Cold Comfort at Nebb's Nook
A downloadable RPG supplement
Cold Comfort at Nebb's Nook is a 'location in conflict' supplement for Cloud Empress; it is a Farmerling settlement for your players to encounter while hex-crawling through the Lowland Wastes in winter, primed with intrigue and potential complications.
Note for GMs/readers: This entry for the Cloud Empress Winter Jam was written and laid out in short bursts while I do the night shift for our newborn, between diaper changes and feeds. There's some gaps for additional art that will be added in future revisions, and some additional location details I'd like to add, but this supplement is playable in its current form.

This adventure effectively capitalizes on the "trapped in a remote location" concept. The villagers seem friendly enough but they're already harboring a few other "guests" with secrets of their own, and tensions will quickly rise (thanks to the Events & Complications table). The pregnant villager is due to give birth at any moment, which seems like a celebratory event--but what's up with the child? [I sense the author is working through some "new parent" anxieties here. ;-) ] Some solid NPCs and a nice map with underground areas round this one out.
Thank you for the feedback and kind words!
Certainly working through a few things with the Infant Table and some of the other NPC details! Candidly, I was thinking through ways things could play out with these NPCs and I wanted to put my thumb on the scales a little with a couple of those table results… and Cloud Empress is such a fun setting for allowing ourselves to get a little weird with it :D
I intend to update this release with a more detailed revision, which should make it a little more rounded and hopefully bring together some elements that might feel like loose ends.
Agreed 100% that Cloud Empress gives us permission to get a little weird. Looking forward to your revision. Oh, and congrats on your newborn!
Thank you :) <3
